A Conscious Care for the world

Beatrice Descorps, Global Vice President of Marketing, Molton Brown, proudly shares: “As pioneers of positive luxury, we want to be responsible for the path our products take. We’re always working on how to nurture our planet even further.

“Here are our ever-evolving commitments to the earth:

  • Our products have been Made in England since 1971 and we are committed to this for our future.
  • This means we can uphold the highest quality standards on our doorstep while promoting local and greener manufacturing.

  • We have never tested on animals since 1971 and we never will, plus we have been Leaping Bunny-approved since 2012.

  • Our formulas are 100% vegetarian and 97% of our products are vegan* – we’ll be a 100% vegan manufacturer by 2022.

  • Our formulas are free from parabens and phthalates.

  • We have not used any microbeads in our products since 2017, choosing natural alternatives such as olive stones, black peppercorn and volcanic sand.

  • We have participated in the EU’s Green Dot Programme since 2006, complying with packaging waste legislation for the recovery and recycling of packaging waste.

  • Our packaging has been 100% FSC certified since 2019, which ensures we source the best quality raw materials, while nurturing our natural resources.

  • Since February 2020, our Hotel Accessories collection is made of fully recyclable outer packaging, and we are always working on expanding our Hotel dispensing programme, which helps eliminate the need for single-use bottles.

  • And our Elsenham facility will be net carbon neutral by 2021, while offsetting our carbon footprint. We have also used 100% renewable electricity there since 2016 and recycled nearly 98% of our waste in 2020.

Hotel Amenities Programme

Molton Brown’s Hotel amenities share the same exceptional formulas as their bestselling and award-winning retail collections. Simon James, General Manager EMEA for Molton Brown, explains: “It’s very important that our hotel amenities have the same formulas as our retails collections, which are Made in England. This makes us unique in the industry and reflects our belief that quality should not be diluted or compromised in any way.”

Molton Brown’s three Hotel collections suit the needs of every hotel’s character and guest style: Luxury Collections One and Two – presenting the brand’s iconic fragrances in their signature retail bottles and 100% recyclable flip-top tubes – and the 1971 Collection, which channels Molton Brown’s artisanal heritage and is 100% vegan*. They feature their popular Bath, Body, Hand and Hair Care products, complemented by Luxury Accessories and bespoke services.

Molton Brown have over 20 years of experience offering dispensers, with a key focus on hygiene and safety. These dispensers can be replenished with five litre refills, helping to eliminate the need for single-use plastic bottles. The brand has now also released the latest addition to its sustainable dispensing programme, its Signature Dispenser.

Descorps enthuses: “We are proud that our newest dispenser is now available for our hotel partners. This is a luxurious and stylish way to reduce waste and excess spending. Installing one dispenser prevents more than 18,250 bottles and 137kg of plastic being sent to landfill every year**, thereby supporting our partners’ conscious care for the environment.”

James concludes: “To stay on top of an ever-changing digital landscape, we’re proud to celebrate our partnership by providing online coverage across our platforms. Hotels can gain valuable exposure to our significant active database and social media following which suit their guest profiles.’’

*No ingredients of animal origin.
