  • 11-21 June 2018

The General Managers Programme (GMP) is a ten-day learning experience for hotel general managers and their immediate successors, held on the Cornell University campus in picturesque Ithaca, NY, US. In the past 34 years, the Cornell GMP has hosted more than 1,800 participants representing 120+ countries and is known as the hospitality industry's elite career-advancement programme for hotel general managers and their immediate successors.

Participants gain an invaluable connection to an international network of elite hoteliers from within the programme, and affiliate membership in Cornell's extensive alumni network of more than 12,000 School of Hotel Administration graduates. The on-campus experience is the beginning of a lifelong connection to Cornell and its expanding base of knowledge and relationships.

GMP leadership is real

The School of Hotel Administration (SHA) is the world's leading hospitality management school and the oldest such school in the US. We help shape the standards by which our industry has grown and changed. The renowned General Managers Programme is designed to share that success with you.

GMP learning is relevant

If you want pertinent, specific, applicable and workable solutions to real-time issues and demands, you want to be in the General Managers Programme. Whether you are a seasoned hotel general manager or poised to become one within the next year, this programme offers a management and strategic-thinking toolkit designed to take you to the next level of your career.

GMP is in a class by itself

GMP takes on strategic property-level issues with depth and precision. You will concentrate on hotel management issues and collaborate to expand the foundation of your knowledge, broaden your viewpoint and produce new solutions to the problems you face. As business transcends continental boundaries, so do we at Cornell. Through our interactive classroom discussions and informal breakaway chat sessions, participants dissect theory-based ideas and learning and relate these to current issues in the industry. This programme shapes decision-makers into strategic thinkers.

GMP participants are world class

You will be among hospitality industry professionals who have travelled from all corners of the earth (68 countries over the past four years) to attend GMP. With this group you will form a personal global network of support and friendship, and share challenges, ideas and solutions.
