Stonebridge Companies, the Denver-based hotel management firm, has expanded its lifestyle portfolio with the addition of The MC Hotel, Autograph Collection in Montclair, New Jersey. The move strengthens Stonebridge’s East Coast footprint and aligns with its strategy to manage design-forward, culturally integrated hospitality assets.
The 159-room property, developed in partnership with CSP MC Partners LP – an affiliate of Circle Squared Alternative Investments, led by CEO Jeff Sica – features over 8,000ft2 of meeting space and panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline from its rooftop lounge. The hotel is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, known for its independently styled properties that reflect local character. The MC Hotel integrates a curated art collection throughout its public spaces, showcasing work by local and national artists.
“The MC Hotel, Autograph Collection is an exceptional asset in a thriving market, and we are proud to welcome it to our managed family,” said Rob Smith, president and CEO of Stonebridge Companies. “Its vibrant location and strong cultural ties make it a perfect fit for our lifestyle portfolio.”
The hotel also marks a key market entry for New York-based Stout NYC Hospitality Group, which will take over all food and beverage operations. Known for its portfolio of 16 venues across New York City, including flagship concepts such as Stout NYC and The Wilson NYC, the group’s expansion into Montclair signals a broader regional strategy.
Stout NYC will now manage Alto Rooftop – the only rooftop venue in Montclair – and Allegory Restaurant & Bar. Both venues are set for major renovations and rebranding later this year. Plans include the launch of a coastal Mediterranean concept next to the hotel, designed in collaboration with ownership.
“The partnership with The MC Hotel, Autograph Collection feels like a natural fit given Montclair’s dynamic scene and proximity to NYC,” said Percy Rodriguez, COO of Stout NYC Hospitality Group. “We’re excited to bring our elevated take on hospitality across the river.”
Chef Dan Drohan will lead the culinary vision across both outlets, focusing on seasonal menus, craft cocktails, and a curated beverage list that includes signature brands such as Guinness – central to the Stout NYC identity.
