Two of Savoy Signature’s jewels in the crown have been recognised at the prestigious World Travel Awards, following a very successful year for the group of high occupancy levels and awards for the Savoy Signature collection. Savoy Palace won Portugal’s Leading Luxury Hotel 2021 and Saccharum won Europe's Leading Island Resort 2021. Whilst Madeira won Europe’s Leading Island Destination 2021.

Savoy Palace
Savoy Palace, Madeira’s only member of Leading Hotels of The World, is a game changer for the destination in terms of contemporary luxury properties. Saccharum
The island’s long history of producing sugar cane was the local designer Nini Andrade da Silva’s departure point for decorating this hotel built on the site of an old sugar mill. Snapshots of the crop are scattered throughout, while alembic metalwork adds a local touch to the restaurant.
There are 243 rooms and suites, and five pools (one exclusively for children). The spa offers guests a holistic approach to wellbeing with a soothing list of treatments and an energising exercise programme including Hatha Yoga and Tai Chi, to help guests centre and reenergise mind and body. Saccharum are just as passionate about their food and drink. The Alambique restaurant is inspired by the magical processes that occurred in the old sugar distillery, Alambique is a restaurant dedicated to make the best of Madeira’s gastronomy meet the best of the world’s tastes. Engenho restaurant offering guests stunning views and freshly prepared vibrant breakfasts then for the evening, the buffet offers a great diversity of flavours ranging from the Mediterranean to the Island’s traditions.
Destination
A firm favourite of Conde Nast Traveller’s readers, Savoy Palace is 20km from the international airport, it provides the perfect base from which to explore the stunning and varied archipelago of Madeira; there will be various excursions and activities on offer to guests. The winter months of December and January are pleasantly sunny with highs of 14 degrees.
