  • Surface Protect 360° offers lasting antibacterial protection, reducing the time taken to clean surfaces and increasing the amount of time required between cleans.
  • It can be used alongside normal cleaning products, providing additional protection and peace of mind for businesses and their customers.
  • The product is designed to benefit organisations across a range of sectors, including education, offices, retail and those with washroom facilities.

Rentokil Specialist Hygiene today launches its new protective antimicrobial coating for use on high risk touchpoints. Surface Protect 360° offers lasting antibacterial protection, reducing the time taken to clean surfaces and increasing the amount of time required between cleans.

The new product’s silica-based invisible surface coating - which repels both liquid and dirt - is effective against greater than 99.99% of bacteria* when applied, after which the coating is 99.9% effective against bacteria** for up to three months of standard cleaning practices***. Between cleans, the product continues to kill bacteria to help reduce the spread of illnesses in commercial or public premises, while preserving the integrity of surfaces by preventing micro-scratches.

The new antimicrobial coating is suitable for application on non-food surfaces and touchpoints*, including high risk touchpoints which are those that people most frequently come into contact with, and consequently require cleaning on a more regular basis. For those businesses looking to improve the hygiene of their premises for colleagues and customers alike, Rentokil Specialist Hygiene can apply the coating to furniture, office equipment, door handles, surfaces in the washroom, and many more shared surfaces that can spread bacteria.

Unlike other disinfectants, which may be required to be left for a period of time before they are fully effective, Surface Protect 360° offers lasting protection by enhancing the long-term hygiene of the surface that it is applied to. As a result, the hygiene levels on treated surfaces is bolstered, helping to reduce the risk of the spread of illness via cross contamination.

For those businesses with carefully considered cleaning processes already in place, Surface Protect 360° can be used alongside normal cleaning products, providing additional protection and peace of mind. The new product can be used in tandem with other Rentokil Specialist Hygiene services, such as Caterclean and washroom deep cleaning, and has a fast application by an expert technician and is quick drying.

Jamie Woodhall, UK Technical and Innovations Manager at Rentokil Specialist Hygiene commented:

“Over the past couple of years, the importance of maintaining stringent hygiene standards has understandably increased for businesses. Poor hygiene standards are a huge financial risk for businesses, whilst also posing a health hazard for employees, customers and visitors. Surface Protect 360° simplifies the cleaning process, providing lasting antibacterial protection and offering a higher level of hygiene to help reduce the spread of illnesses.  Once applied it also reduces the time required to clean the surfaces themselves. This offers a comprehensive solution for businesses that are committed to delivering a safe and healthy environment where work and productivity can flourish.”

Surface Protect 360° can be utilised in a number of commercial settings, from offices and washrooms, to schools and retail stores. It is dermatologically tested and suitable for all non-porous surfaces except food contact surfaces.
