Hospitality ESG consultancy mission : net zero has announced the appointment of industry expert, for its growing hotel client base.
Sir James has worked in the hospitality sector since 1982 with chartered surveyors William Hillary, Humberts Leisure and Druce Hotels, brewers Greene King PLC and accountants PKF Hotels where he was Director of Hotel Property Services. In 2013, Sir James saw an opportunity to create a truly independent hotel purchasing advisory company and thus, Herald Hotels was founded, and he remains Managing Director.
Prior to forming Herald, Sir James was Executive Director at CBRE Hotels responsible for all hotel valuation, consultancy, and professional services across EMEA. In his new role as Head of Strategy for mission : net zero, Sir James will be fundamental in the strategic direction of the ESG consultancy across the hotel sector with mission : net zero providing, building and technical services including BREEAM methodologies, operational eco-certification, and digital transformation, all of which are becoming increasingly integral to investment lifecycles.
Commenting on his new role, Sir James comments: “Hotel purchasers, investors and prospective vendors are giving increasing priority to ESG concerns when considering their strategy in the current hotel market. It is now a key investment criteria and I look forward to helping to grow mission : net zero’s reach across the industry providing practical timely and reliable advice as part of any due diligence required”.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for mission : net zero as building on their success in the UK the firm is delivering advisory support services into the European hotel market. They are supplementing the existing team with two additional sustainability consultants to the team; based in Manchester and Geneva.
