A new boutique hotel will open in Courchevel 1850 in December 2025, aiming to bring a distinctive mix of Alpine minimalism and high-end design to one of France’s most exclusive ski resorts.

The Maya Hotel Courchevel 1850 will feature just 14 rooms and suites, including two larger private accommodations – the Lalique Suite and Lalique Apartment – each with their own treatment rooms and spa facilities.

The hotel is the latest project from the Maya Collection, known for its restaurants in Monaco, Dubai and Porto Montenegro, and will include a local outpost of its MayaBay concept, serving Thai-Japanese fusion cuisine.

The interiors have been developed in collaboration with French crystal maker Maison Lalique, which has designed several bespoke elements for the hotel, including a 39-crystal chandelier for the main lobby. The wider design draws on Japanese influences, combining natural materials such as wood, stone and bronze to create a pared-back, contemporary aesthetic.

In addition to its ski-in ski-out location, the hotel will offer a wellness menu developed in partnership with Japanese skincare brand Forlle’d, and will be available for exclusive hire.

With Courchevel’s reputation for attracting high-end travellers, the Maya Hotel’s focus on privacy, design and limited capacity marks a shift away from larger luxury properties towards more personalised, experience-led stays in the Alps.
