Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has officially entered the Japanese market with the opening of Fairmont Tokyo, located in the newly developed Blue Front Shibaura district. The luxury property, which occupies the top floors of Tower South, opened its doors on 1 July with a ribbon-tying ceremony that marked a significant milestone for the Accor-owned brand.

Fairmont Tokyo offers 217 rooms and suites across floors 36 to 42, each with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of Tokyo Bay or the city skyline. Designed by BAR Studio, interiors incorporate Japanese design elements such as Kintsugi-inspired artwork and Engawa-style seating areas. The hotel also features Fairmont Gold, the brand’s elevated ‘“’hotel-within-a-hotel’”’ concept, offering private check-in, lounge access and curated experiences.

Located just 13 minutes from Haneda Airport and within minutes of Tokyo and Shinagawa stations, the property offers convenient access for international and domestic travelers. The surrounding Shibaura district, known for its canals and proximity to landmarks like Zojoji Temple, provides a quieter contrast to the city’s busier business hubs.

The hotel introduces seven dining venues that draw from Tokyo’s diverse food culture. Vue Mer blends French and Japanese café traditions, Kiln & Tonic serves coastal brasserie fare with views of Tokyo Tower, and OFF RECORD taps into Tokyo’s speakeasy scene with vinyl, rare spirits and high-end bar bites. The 35th-floor wellness centre includes a spa, Technogym-equipped fitness studio and an indoor infinity pool with city views.

Fairmont Tokyo also brings one of the city’s largest ballrooms to market, along with a top-floor event space featuring an open kitchen concept and a terrace for private gatherings.
