Villa Dahlia, a boutique hotel located in central Stockholm, has joined the Beyond Green hospitality portfolio, becoming the group’s first property in the Nordic region. Beyond Green, operated by Preferred Travel Group, is a global collection of hotels, resorts and lodges that meet sustainability standards aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Opened in September 2024 and part of the Diplomat Collection, Villa Dahlia features 103 rooms and suites. The hotel integrates sustainability into its operations and design, and has achieved a BREEAM In-Use rating of ‘“’Excellent’, a leading certification for sustainable building performance.

To qualify for Beyond Green membership, properties are assessed on more than 50 sustainability criteria. These include environmental performance, community involvement, and the protection of cultural and natural heritage.

Villa Dahlia’s environmentally focused features include energy-saving systems, water-efficient fixtures, refillable amenities and a linen reuse programme. The hotel sources ingredients locally for its restaurant, which offers a Swedish-Italian menu. It also supports several local initiatives, including the Gustaf III Kommitté, the Childhood Foundation, and Stockholm LGBT.

“Becoming a part of Beyond Green is an important milestone for both Villa Dahlia and the Diplomat Collection,” said Pierre Astell, head of sustainability implementation at Villa Dahlia. “It is a testament to the work we have put into integrating sustainability into every aspect of our operations.”

Villa Dahlia’s addition expands Beyond Green’s global footprint, which now includes nearly 60 properties across 24 countries. A full list of member hotels can be found on Beyond Green’s website.

Business travellers and guests at Villa Dahlia can also participate in the I Prefer Hotel Rewards programme, Preferred Travel Group’s loyalty scheme with nearly 600 participating hotels worldwide.
