DOWN HALL APPOINTS LINDEN BEATTIE AS GENERAL MANAGER

Essex country house hotel, spa and estate, Down Hall, has appointed Linden Beattie as its General Manager. Linden joins at an exciting time for the property, which is currently finalising its latest round of refurbishments to its bar, lounge and terrace, following a £2.8 million investment. 

With over 18 years of experience in the premium hospitality sector, Linden brings a strong record in profit improvement, employee development and customer service to the property. Following the hotel’s recent phase of investment and development, Linden’s first task will be to successfully launch the F&B spaces at the property, as well as driving business development, recruitment and training, whilst working to ensure an outstanding level of service across the board.

Linden joins Down Hall from The Waterfront Hotel, Spa & Golf Wyboston Lakes Resort where he progressed from Hotel Manager to General Manager. He played an integral part in raising the hotel’s profile and customer service standards. This was recognised through numerous awards and accolades including AA four silver-star status, a listing in ‘The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For’ as well as an AA One Rosette Award.  He was also instrumental in the hotel reducing single use plastics by 20% in a year following their pledge to do so.

Of his appointment, Linden says: “I am thrilled to be joining Down Hall at such an exciting time for the property. I’m looking forward to leading the team as we navigate our way through a post-pandemic world and establishing Down Hall as one of the finest countryside hotels and wedding venues in the UK.”

When not at work, Linden enjoys playing squash, running and cycling.
